This past month of February was wetter and much colder than the same period last year. According to weather statistics recorded here at our studios in downtown Fordyce, this past month of February we received over 3 and 3 tenths inches of rain while last year we received just over 2 inches, a difference of more than an inch and a third. The average high temperature recorded last month was 48 degrees while the average high in February of 2009 was 63 degrees, 15 degrees warmer. Last month we peaked at just 64 degrees on the 2oth day of the month compared to a high of 78 last year, a 14 degree difference. The average daily low temperature recorded this February was 30 degrees, 11 degrees colder than last year when the average daily low was 41. And the thermometer bottomed out at 19 degrees on the 4th of last month compared to a recorded low of 21 in February of '09. |
